The Ortongate Sportsbar and Fanzone, which is located in the Ortongate Shopping Centre, officially opened on 22/12/23 and people have been excited about the prospect of a sports bar at the heart of the Orton Gate centre.

A brief history & words from LLoyd
Plans for the Orton Sportsbar and Fanzone were first submitted to Peterborough City Council in March of 2023 with approval finally being granted in July 2023 which allowed building work to get under way.
The bar officially opened on 22/12/23:
“It’s taken blood, sweat and tears but we did it. – Lloyd McPherson”
“It has been great so far,” said Lloyd. “I just want to create a social hub for the community – get people out of their homes and into somewhere they can meet people and speak to people, and sport is a universal language that breaks down barriers. You don’t even need to speak the same language. – Lloyd McPherson”
“We want to appeal to everyone,” added Lloyd. “We allow children in with parents until 9pm so it has been really nice seeing families playing pool, people stopping for a coffee and sports fans too watching on the big screens. – Lloyd McPherson”
The sports bar will show all types of sport on eight large TV screens, and will feature a bar and cafe and outdoors seating area in the mall.
